Meet the Founder
Bryan Pierce, Founder & Head Coach
Bryan has spent more than 15 years in the fitness industry, building his career around a single conviction: staying strong and capable shouldn't end as we get older.
A lifelong athlete, Bryan grew up competing in hockey, baseball, football, and track and field. That foundation shapes how he coaches today — an emphasis on movement quality, individualized programming, and the kind of long-term capability that keeps adults active for decades, not just for a season.
His approach was forged in part by watching athletic family members lose their mobility as they aged. It convinced him that longevity and pain-free confidence in movement should be the real goal of training — the difference between looking fit for a summer and staying able to move, lift, and live independently for the rest of your life.
Today he leads Pierce Wellness & Fitness Centre in Kitchener, where physiotherapy and supervised fitness work side by side to help adults train without intimidation and without limitation.
Bryan's mission is straightforward: build a welcoming environment where everyday adults can rebuild and maintain strength, protect their mobility, and stay capable for life.
Our Philosophy
Built Around Longevity
Pierce Fitness builds every program around the individual member's goals — strength, mobility, weight loss, performance, or aesthetics. What ties it all together is a philosophy of longevity.
The founding motivation came from watching strong, athletic adults lose their mobility and independence after 40, so even aesthetic and performance goals are pursued in a way that keeps members capable for the long haul — not quick results that don't last.
“Our mission: help 500 adults in Kitchener stay strong and mobile past 40.”

The Team

Bryan Pierce
Founder & Head Coach
Bryan has spent more than 15 years in the fitness industry, built around a single conviction: staying strong and capable shouldn’t end as we get older.
A lifelong athlete who grew up competing in hockey, baseball, football, and track & field, Bryan coaches with an emphasis on movement quality, individualized programming, and long-term capability — keeping adults active and living their best lives for decades.
His approach was shaped in part by watching athletic family members lose their mobility as they aged. Aesthetic and performance goals are always pursued in a way that keeps members capable for the long haul — not quick results that don’t last. The focus is staying able to move, lift, and live independently for the rest of your life.
Outside the gym, Bryan enjoys board games with family and friends, exploring local breweries and distilleries, and spending time with his little family.

Mat’s philosophy is simple: lasting results come from understanding the person behind the goal. Every client is unique, and he takes pride in building meaningful relationships that foster confidence, accountability, and long-term success.
A lifelong student of human performance, Mat holds certifications in corrective exercise, nutrition, and fitness coaching. His empathetic, adaptable approach helps clients move better, feel stronger, and create sustainable habits that support a healthier, more active life.

Amanda Boyd
Coach
Movement has been a central part of Amanda’s life for as long as she can remember — growing up on a farm, figure skating, gymnastics, and competing in school sports. After experiencing the impact of a sedentary lifestyle in university, she rediscovered her health through kickboxing and Muay Thai.
Dealing with injuries along the way sparked her passion for personal training. She became fascinated by the process of rebuilding strength, restoring mobility, and helping the body move the way it was designed to — pain-free.
Amanda’s approach combines functional strength, movement quality, and sustainable lifestyle habits. She firmly believes movement is medicine — not just for the body, but for the mind and spirit. Fitness should bring joy, not dread, and everyone deserves a program tailored to their unique goals, abilities, and lifestyle.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and has been a CanFitPro-certified Personal Training Specialist since 2019, with additional certifications in applied strength training, barbell strength, boxing, and Precision Nutrition.

An excellent combination of personalized attention plus supportive community. The classes are never so big that you become a face in the crowd. The fact that I left a gym 5 minutes from my home to come to this gym across town should say enough.
